Overview

Planned Systems International, Inc (PSI) is seeking a Healthcare Data Quality Analyst. This is for our Veterans Health Administration’s (VHA’s) Veterans Health Information Exchange (VHIE) Program (www.va.gov/vhie), formerly known as the Virtual Lifetime Electronic Record (VLER) Health Program, allows VA, participating external partners/providers, and Veteran patients to securely share health information from a Veteran’s health record electronically.

 

The Healthcare Data Quality Analyst will provide support to the VHIE Program Implementation Team. The responsibilities include maintaining a project plan for VA Exchange and VA Direct Messaging data quality reviews; conducting data quality review sessions of healthcare documents with VA clinical staff and tracking associated interactions; completing and submitting data quality reviews of healthcare documents to VHIE Data Quality Team; and collaborating with connected community care providers to address data quality concerns and track all issues to resolution.

Subject matter expertise in healthcare interoperability and shared document standards including, but not limited to, C-CDA, CCD, Encounter Summary, Discharge Summary, etc., is necessary to be effective in this role.

The Healthcare Data Quality Analyst will work closely with Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN) level VHIE Program Implementation Coordinators and VHIE Program Office government and contract staff to understand encountered issues and advocate for improvement. They will also provide support to VHIE Program Office teams as assigned.

 

A successful Healthcare Data Quality Analyst will possess exemplary skills in communications, time management, attention to detail, stakeholder collaboration, and healthcare document data quality review activities.

 

We are looking for a self-starter, who can apply data quality and data validation analysis concepts in a changing landscape, document detailed findings, and effectively communicate outcomes.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

  • Function as the liaison and primary point of contact between the VHIE Program Office and respective teams, local community care providers, and VISN and VAMC administrative and clinical staff pertaining to data quality reviews
  • Develop and maintain data quality review management reports and deliver to VHIE Program Implementation leadership
  • Conduct ongoing data quality management status meetings with VHIE Program Implementation leadership outlining data quality issue types, root cause analysis outcomes, best practices, challenges, risks, lessons learned, and next steps
  • Complete ongoing contract deliverable documentation as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience working in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Military Health System (MHS), and/or other healthcare entities preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience working in healthcare interoperability and/or with health information exchange systems preferred
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and to adjust quickly and efficiently to changes in assigned tasks
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven working experience as a systems analyst or related career
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail
  • Skills in research, problem solving, and data quality concern resolution, both technical and non-technical
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data trends and charts over time
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, specifically Office, SharePoint, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • Strong working knowledge of healthcare interoperability documents and included document content
  • Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
  • Possess current or previous government clearance and/or ability to pass government background security checks
