Planned Systems International (PSI), a Government Contractor, has an immediate opportunity available for an experienced information technology professional to serve as the VistA Database Administrator for a large, complex program. This position will provide database duties for legacy VistA databases for the Enterprise Testing Service Support Services contract.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

This position will be responsible for providing VistA legacy database management support for the Veterans Affairs (VA) Enterprise Testing Service Support Services (ETSSS) contract.  This includes supporting the overall performance and success of the project including, but not limited to:  Responsible for deploying, updating, and managing test VistA instances across several RHEL and cloud-deployed environments. Installing Legacy VistA patches. Independently executing projects to completion. Develop a keen understanding of technical goals and requirements,and develop a vision to translate those requirements to the end-product.  Work in alignment with project leadership and client stake holders to deliver the project on time, with high quality, and in alignment with the customer’s expectations. Ensure that Service Level Agreements are met or exceeded. Anticipate project challenges and risk scenarios and prepare, lead, and execute proactive mitigation strategies to ensure optimal results. Assist in serving as the point of contact for technical-related questions.  Interact effectively and professionally with clients, stakeholders, partners, sub-contractors, and vendors.  Plan, monitor, and control relevant tasks outlined in the contract and statement of work.  Will provide training to candidates to ensure success in this position.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a recognized technical, engineering, scientific, managerial,

    business, or other discipline related to area of expertise. Four (4) years of documented relevant experience or an Associate’s Degree together with two (2) years of documented relevant experience, may be substituted for the Bachelor’s Degree.

  • Position requires 2+ years practical experience in VistA, database management skills and/or testing or prior experience using VistA.
  • Experience with database management skills.
  • Adaptable to new technologies, processes, and policies.
  • Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid interpersonal skills; demonstrable team building skills.
  • Available 24x7, as needed for emergency situations
  • In addition, U.S. Citizenship is required as is successfully passing a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting.  ‚Äč

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge and experience in Veteran’s Health Administration desired.
  • Knowledge and experience in Military Health System desired.
  • Experience with Microsoft products such as Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Experience with analyzing the system requirements and interfaces to other systems.
