Overview

Planned Systems International, Inc (PSI) is seeking a IT Specialist/Asset Management for our contract in Brooklyn, NY. The New York City Department of Social Services (DSS) spearheads New York City's Welfare Reform initiatives and serves a diverse group of New Yorkers through a wide range of social service programs. DSS's mission is to make work central in the lives of all able-bodied New Yorkers receiving public assistance. DSS's programs also ensure that those needy individuals who meet eligibility requirements are provided food, shelter, temporary financial assistance, medical care, counseling, and other essential services. Information Technology Services (ITS) principal goal is to provide and continue to enhance the technology infrastructure and computer applications that are in place to support the present and future business requirements of all organizations within the Agency. This infrastructure has enabled DSS to maximize and improve its ability to deliver timely, quality services to DSS clients and to the public within New York City, as well as obtain administrative benefits. 

 

POSITION IS ONSITE IN BROOKLYN, NY

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

  • Reviews requests for acquisitions of hardware/software systems to ensure feasibility and compatibility with agency computer/network environment by analyzing user requirements and recommending appropriate system configurations
  • Provides high level technical expertise and knowledge to guide to users on use of the request system and ensure requests are accurate and correct and that they are processed timely
  • Assists in coordination of activities related to receiving, distribution, installation and relocations and other changes to inventory to ensure the Agency’s Asset Management system data is updated accurately and on a timely basis
  • Conducts systems analyses and reviews process flows to identify areas of improvement
  • Prepares documentations and presentations as needed to support analyses of systems, databases and operational flows with recommendations for improvements and configurations for systems enhancements
  • Participates in budgetary and technical specification analyses and prepares required written technical specification memos to support the Agency’s major planned purchase of hardware and software

Minimum Requirements

  • Good oral and written communications skills a must *Most important
  • Understanding of good customer service practices. 
  • Good Analytic skills to approach problems and reach solutions
  • Good understanding of various asset types hardware and software products
