Overview

PSI is currently seeking a ServiceNow Platform Administrator / Critical System Maintenance Lead that is responsible for the daily operation, configuration, and performance of the USSS’s on-premises instance of the ServiceNow platform. This key personnel role also leads enterprise patch management activities, ensuring that mission-critical systems are secured, updated, and maintained in accordance with government security requirements and operational cadence.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary administrator for the on-premises ServiceNow environment, managing platform stability, configuration, upgrades, and workflows.
  • Lead the planning and execution of platform patches, security updates, and version upgrades in coordination with USSS and contractor teams.
  • Manage user roles, access controls, and data integrations across ServiceNow modules (e.g., Incident, Change, Asset, CMDB).
  • Implement changes in a scaled Agile framework with multiple concurrent modules and release cycles.
  • Monitor performance, perform root cause analysis of ServiceNow-related issues, and resolve platform or script errors.
  • Document standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical configurations, and maintenance logs.
  • Interface with NOC, SD, and SOC personnel to support incident response and service restoration activities.
  • Ensure that the ServiceNow instance aligns with DHS and USSS security policies and system hardening standards.
  • Lead enterprise patching for servers and infrastructure components, coordinating with operations teams and stakeholders to ensure minimal impact and compliance with vulnerability remediation timelines.

Minimum Requirements

  • Active T5 investigation, with the ability to obtain and maintain necessary security clearances as required for access to classified information.
  • Proven experience administering an on-premises ServiceNow instance in an enterprise or government environment.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining ServiceNow modules in an Agile/Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
  • Strong background in patch management and critical system maintenance for large, distributed environments.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes, including incident, change, problem, and configuration management.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience supporting DHS, DoD, or other federal agencies with high-security requirements.
  • Proficiency in scripting (e.g., JavaScript, Glide API) and ServiceNow automation tools.
  • Knowledge of FISMA, NIST 800-53, and FedRAMP-related security compliance.
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with vulnerability management tools (e.g., Tenable, Qualys, SCCM).

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to work on-site in a secure USSS facility in Washington, DC.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods at a workstation or operations center environment.
  • May be required to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally, such as moving monitors, cables, or peripheral devices.
