Overview

ProSphere (PST), a Planned Systems International (PSI) company, is seeking an experienced M365 Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative team supporting the Department of Veteran Affairs, Office of Information Technology, Connectivity and Collaborative Services Branch. As an M365 Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and supporting the implementation of Microsoft technologies such as SharePoint, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Teams. You will work in collaboration with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into innovative solutions that leverage Microsoft's suite of productivity and collaboration tools.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement Microsoft Power Platform solutions aligned with business requirements.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements for M365 and Power Platform solutions.
  • Develop customized solution components using Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
  • Configure and support SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams environments.
  • Integrate Microsoft Power Platform solutions with other business applications and systems.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for M365 and Power Platform solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Provide project status reports to the Government and project managers at all stages of the project life cycle.
  • Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet outlined objectives. Exercises judgement within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. 
  • Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques.
  • Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.
  • Follow established procedures.
  • Work proactively and independently to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Function as part of an integrated team sharing technical expertise, best practices, and suggestions for improvements.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted for education.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in M365 and Microsoft Power Platform development and administration.
  • Strong understanding of SharePoint Online, Teams, and related Office 365 technologies.
  • Proficiency in creating and configuring Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI solutions.
  • Experience with Office 365 security management and compliance.
  • Familiarity with web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
  • Self-starter with a positive attitude and the ability to plan, track, and complete projects with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with brevity and clarity to government clients and develop work products that meet professional quality standards with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to schedule, organize, and facilitate executive-level virtual meetings and summarize outcomes.
  • Ability to self-organize, balance workload, complete tasks on time (without reminders), proactively seek out assignments, and offer improvements to client delivery.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

Required Technical/Business Tools Experience

  • MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • MS SharePoint Online
  • MS Visio
  • Jira or comparable requirements management tool
  • MS PowerApps, PowerAutomate, PowerBI
  • MS Microsoft Teams
  • HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience working as a VA contractor or employee.
  • Experience with Government Contracting or solution development at the Department of Veterans Affairs is a plus
  • Understanding of cloud security requirements, including FISMA, FEDRAMP, Impact Level, NIST, etc. a plus

Physical Demands

  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, including talking and hearing.
  • Ability to operate productively in a fully remote work environment, including the ability to take meetings and phone calls from a quiet and private space during business hours.
  • Ability and willingness to actively participate in virtual meetings throughout most of the workday and be responsive to messages (MS Teams) and emails (MS Outlook) within reasonable timeframes set by the supervisor or client.
  • Ability to be responsive and working during Central time zone standard business hours (8:00am to 4:00pm CST).
  • Ability to satisfy security clearance and onboarding requirements:
    • Print, sign, scan, and return onboarding documentation.
    • Travel at personal expense to nearest government facility to get fingerprinted, apply for a PIV badge, pick-up the PIV badge, and pick-up government equipment. Periodic PIV renewals and the equipment will need to be returned as well.
