About:  This position provides medical readiness support to the Soldier Resiliency and Readiness Center (SRRC) in coordination with William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) to support soldier mobilizations and demobilizations, as well as to provide secondary support to WBAMC’s Primary Care and other outlying clinics when mission permits.

Location: Fort Bliss, Texas

The main mission is to conduct health screenings on all pre-/post-deployment personnel (service members, contractor personnel, and/or civilian personnel) to include Separation Health Physical Examinations (SHPE) on post-deployment military personnel. General soldier readiness health screenings along with primary care evaluations, diagnostics and treatment for all service members are also included in the scope of the mission.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

  • Shall support to the local MTF as needed.
  • Maintain files in accordance with AR 40-66. File medical documentation and ensure data filed are properly identified. Return loose medical documents to various medical clinics as necessary. Sort and file laboratory slips, consultation reports, physical exams, forms and other materials. Review records for proper sequences of documents, file loose documents, correct misfiles, ensure all documents are together by name and social security number when records are pulled for treatment or administrative purposes. Cross-reference indices and compile statistics on requested information pertaining to medical care provided for use in various reports. Assist with record dispositions by copying medical records and forwarding original to various organizations after final approval. Ensure a copy of records is maintained at the clinic.
  • Prior to disposition of the record, review entire record for proper sequence of documents and check for duplication of records to ensure the same information has not been sent previously.
  • Apply the appropriate guidelines concerning the release of patient medical information. Prepare charge-out record on all files removed showing appropriate office, physician, or clinic to which the file is being charged.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience: Six months experience of clerical, office or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge, and skills needed to perform the duties of the position.
  • Education: One year above high school.
  • Experience/Education Combination: Equivalent combination of experience and education are qualifying for entry level for which both education and experience are acceptable.
  • Certifications: Have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. The American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers is the only program accepted. BLS recertification shall be maintained in a current status at all times while the CP is performing services under this contract.
  • Citizenship:  U.S. citizenship. 
  • Credentialing: Ability to pass background check and drug screen. Current physical and immunizations.  

  Preferred Qualifications:    

  • Previous experience working with the military population.
