Staff Officer (NORTHCOM)

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, monitor, and evaluate activities concerning physical security and security administrative issues.
  • Process security administrative forms AF2586, AF2875, Indoctrination packets and Escort test.
  • Verify SCIF equipment removal forms during removal of equipment and entry of unauthorized equipment and devices.
  • Identify and record best practices, inefficient practices, and recommend improvements.
  • Facilitate the formulation, coordination, integration, and synchronization of staff. actions, tasks, events, and other activities of J2 divisions.
  • Support the J2 Special Security Office.
  • Process Visitor Access Request (VAR), clearance verification, visit requests, manage building physical security access.
  • Monitor entry control points, conduct ID & bag checks and assist personnel with badge issues.
  • Manage physical security of footprint, check security alarms, Monitor security doors and security cameras.
  • Verify & validate security clearance level checks and visitor requests on DISS.
  • Process work orders regarding building security deficiencies in support of Facility Manager.
  • Physically capable of standing for an hour and setting up rooms as needed in support of J2 events.
  • Escort visitors, contractors and distinguished personnel.
  • Maintain accountability of SCIF badges and facility master keys.

Minimum Requirements

  • Active TS/CI CI POLY security clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience with Government Security Policies and Regulations
  • Experience with Defense Information Security System (DISS) or JPAS
  • Administrative Assistant and/or Staff Officer Experience
  • Project Coordination Experience
