Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stake holders, DevSecOps and data engineering teams to execute on the analytics roadmap.
  • Analyze and explore Big Data from several systems and data sources including databases, data lakes, cloud blob stores, etc. to identify patterns and trends.
  • Leverage Python or PySpark to analyze, clean, transform and prepare structured, unstructured and semi-structured data for machine learning models.
  • Leverage Python for feature engineering, dimensionality reduction, data preparation, etc.
  • Implement machine learning algorithms for object detection, photo manipulation and text extraction using computer vision leveraging OpenCV library as well as deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow and PyTorch.
  • Implement NLP-based solutions using libraries such as Spark NLP.
  • Create visualizations to help evaluate machine learning models.
  • Perform data-driven analysis leveraging various machine learning metrics (e.g. accuracy, confusion matrix, AUC, etc.) to select the best performing machine learning models.
  • Collaborate with DevSecOps team to implement micro-services to enable iterative model training, hyper-parameter tuning, continuous learning and model deployment. 
  • Write unit, integration and regression tests to automate testing of machine learning pipeline.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for machine learning use cases, metrics and results.
  • Leverage cloud-based infrastructure and services for machine learning including AWS and Databricks.
  • Create innovative AI/ML solutions for challenging business problems.

Minimum Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
  • Intermediate to advanced level hands-on experience with Python.
  • Hands-on data exploration experience with either Python Pandas DataFrame APIs or PySpark DataFrames.
  • Hands-on machine learning experience with at least one major Python library like scikit-learn, Spark MlLib, etc.
  • Intermediate to advanced level understanding of various supervised and unsupervised algorithms, their applicability and metrics.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of numerical optimization of machine learning models.
  • Understanding of the modern machine learning life cycle including continuous monitoring, training and deployment.
  • Experience with notebook environments for Python (Databricks, SageMaker, Jupyter, etc.)
  • Effective communication, documentation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a can-do attitude.

Desired Qualifications

  • Educational background in data science and/or machine learning is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Databricks Unified Analytics Platform is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with MLflow for model ML experiment tracking and model storage.
  • Experience with AWS machine learning services like Sagemaker, etc.
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow, Pytorch, MXNet, Keras etc.
  • Experience with Transformer & LLM models like BERT, GPT, etc.
  • Experience with computer vision.
  • Experience writing unit, integration and regression tests.
