About:  This position provides medical readiness support to the Soldier Resiliency and Readiness Center (SRRC) in coordination with William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) to support soldier mobilizations and demobilizations, as well as to provide secondary support to WBAMC’s Primary Care and other outlying clinics when mission permits.

Location: Fort Bliss, Texas

The main mission is to conduct health screenings on all pre-/post-deployment personnel (service members, contractor personnel, and/or civilian personnel) to include Separation Health Physical Examinations (SHPE) on post-deployment military personnel. General soldier readiness health screenings along with primary care evaluations, diagnostics and treatment for all service members are also included in the scope of the mission.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and communicate activities with the WBAMC Credentialing Office supervisor.
  • Perform primary and secondary source verifications of credentials according to departmental policy.
  • Establish and update practitioner's credentials files (PCF) and provider activity files (PAF) on providers going through the pre/post-deployment screening process. Audits files for completed information upon submission, requests missing data from providers. Ensure accuracy and completeness of files via application of appropriate regulations. Ensure that designated CP receive and maintain a valid, current license. Maintain liaison with educational institutions, state licensing agencies, hospitals, professional associations, specialty boards, and governmental staff offices. Ensure provision of a clear, written delineation of clinical privileges to each CP.
  • Notify Network Services Representatives when unable to obtain required documentation.
  • Prepare files for presentation to the Chief Medical Officer and Credentialing Committee.
  • Shall support to the local MTF as needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate, plus a minimum of one year at university or junior/community college.
  • Experience: Possess a minimum of two years of experience within the last four years working in a hospital, insurance network, or managed care environment where at least 50% of the time was spent focused on verifying and maintaining the credentials of licensed, registered, and/or certified medical personnel, including but not limited to physicians, advanced practice registered nurses, physician assistants, therapists, etc.
  • Certifications: Have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. The American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers is the only program accepted. BLS recertification shall be maintained in a current status at all times while the CP is performing services under this contract.
  • Citizenship:  U.S. citizenship. 
  • Credentialing: Ability to pass background check and drug screen. Current physical and immunizations.  

  Preferred Qualifications:    

  • Previous experience working with the military population.
